    I have found that when I use my 300mm lens, f 8 gives me the best DOF. Anything less causes too much lose of detail and anything more does not isolate enough of the subject. DOF changes when using wider angled lenses. For example, f 8 on a 24mm lens has much more DOF than on a 300mm lens. This is something I was confused about for some time.

    When posting pictures to this blog: Before you publish the posting, click on the uploaded picture itself. Having done this, you should see picture size options at the bottom. Simply select X-Large. This has worked for me.
